Local civil servants in Japan Gets Lunch Hour Sleep



The government of a province in Japan, during the next few months, would impose a unique order to save electricity consumption. All employees are asked to go home for a nap or rest for two hours. According to The Telegraph, June 17, 2011, the policy was issued Gifu prefecture government. Hours of rest that goes between the hours of 13 to 15. For the government of Gifu, the policy is very useful to save on electricity use in the office. In summer, electricity use in the office is very high because it must use air conditioning. Moreover, Japan is currently experiencing a problem of power supply after the crisis of nuclear radiation in Fukushima who was hit by the tsunami last March 11. "We are very kahwatir on the amount of energy we use and we had to cut it," said Yuiichi Kumazaki, Gifu senior officials, quoted by the Telegraph. "The level of consumption was highest during the day. So some officials suggested that there are hours of nap," continued Kumazaki. During the day naps, all computers must be turned off. Similarly, all the lights and air conditioning in the office. Then all employees of government offices during office hours Gifu was able to go home for a nap or a walk to the shopping center.
